remember how i used to be so frustrated over the need for balance in our lives... i still am. except that i'm a little more accepting of it now i guess. there's this quote i came across while reading the dune series (again, must advertise this amazingly insightful and ingenious series to avid readers)
"There's no secret to balance. You just have to feel the waves." -Mother Superior Darwi Odrade
again, startled by the clear insight. lolz bene gesserit wisdom~ but really... the quote implies that the analogy of a tightrope, and the skill required in walking it is flawed. as we go through life, we just learn to ride the ups and downs and ultimately remain afloat amidst the chaos. it eliminates the frustration cos it's now not so much a matter of needing to learn to walk a tightrope, but rather just learning to lie back and float on the waves.
